About Us

Welcome to the Army Museum Halifax Citadel where history comes to life, and the legacy of Nova Scotia’s soldiers is preserved and celebrated. Established in 1953 we are proud to be a beacon of knowledge and remembrance for military enthusiasts and historians. We are a private, non-profit institution and have memberships with the Organization of Military Museums of Canada and the Association of Nova Scotia Museums (ANSM), and we operate with the assistance of the Nova Scotia Museum and Parks Canada.

Our Mission

We are a non-profit institution dedicated to the collection, preservation, and exhibition of material related to the military history of Atlantic Canada, with a focus on Nova Scotia, and to preserving the memory of Atlantic Canada’s soldiers. Through engaging exhibits, interactive displays, and educational programs, we aim to foster a deep appreciation for the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of the men and women who have served.

At the Army Museum Halifax Citadel, our mission is clear: to honor the past, educate the present, and inspire the future. We are dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Nova Scotia’s soldiers and sharing their stories, sacrifices, and triumphs with the world.
